Is Suboxone Right for You?
Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) is a prescription medication used to treat opioid addiction. Unlike methadone, Suboxone can be taken at home and may help reduce opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms while supporting normal daily functioning.
Your provider will evaluate your medical history, previous treatment, current opioid use, and recovery goals before determining whether Suboxone is an appropriate option for you.
Treatment Can Be Individualized
You do not have to decide on your own which medication is best. Your provider will work with you to develop a treatment plan based on your circumstances.
Sublocade & Brixadi
Sublocade and Brixadi are extended-release injectable forms of buprenorphine that provide a longer-acting treatment option for adults with opioid addiction.
These medications may be appropriate for patients who have already been stabilized on a buprenorphine-containing medication. Your provider can help determine whether an extended-release injection is a suitable option for your treatment plan.
For some patients, long-acting medication can offer a convenient alternative to taking medication every day.
Is Vivitrol Right for You?
Vivitrol (injectable naltrexone) is a monthly medication that can be used in the treatment of both opioid and alcohol addiction. It works differently from buprenorphine-based medications and may help reduce cravings and block the effects associated with opioid use.
Vivitrol may be considered based on your addiction history, previous treatment, detoxification status, and individual needs.
Your provider will help determine whether Vivitrol is an appropriate option and when treatment should begin.
